Aroxol® is used in conditions where there is excessive thick mucous production in the air passages. By thinning the mucous, Aroxol® helps clear the air passages, thereby aiding in overcoming infections in the respiratory system.
Aroxol® is contraindicated in individuals with known hypersensitivity to Ambroxol or Bromhexine.
Aroxol® should be taken after meals. The recommended dose for adults and children is as stated below:
Aroxol® is not recommended for children under 2 years of age without medical advice.
Medical advice should be sought if symptoms persist for more than 14 days and/or if symptoms worsen despite treatment with Aroxol®.
When you must not take Aroxol®
Do not use Aroxol® if you are allergic to Ambroxol.
Before you start to take Aroxol®
Before taking Aroxol®, inform your doctor if you have, or have had, any of the following conditions:
Liver problems
Kidney problems
Occasional, mild side effects from Ambroxol include:
Nausea
Diarrhea
Indigestion
A feeling of fullness in the stomach (a bloated feeling)
Very rarely, serious allergic reactions can occur, such as:
Skin rashes
Difficulty breathing
Swelling of the face, lips, mouth, tongue, or throat, which may cause difficulty in swallowing or breathing.
Pregnancy: Special care is recommended during pregnancy, especially during the first 3 months.
Breastfeeding: The benefits of Ambroxol should be weighed against possible effects on your child.
Store below 30°C in a cool, dry place. Protect from light.
Aroxol® should be kept out of reach of children.
