Andep® 25: Each tablet contains Sertraline Hydrochloride BP 28.0 mg, equivalent to Sertraline 25 mg.
Andep® 50: Each tablet contains Sertraline Hydrochloride BP 56.0 mg, equivalent to Sertraline 50 mg.
Andep® 100: Each tablet contains Sertraline Hydrochloride BP 112.0 mg, equivalent to Sertraline 100 mg.
Depressive illness.
Obsessive-compulsive disorder.
Post-traumatic stress disorder.
Depressive Illness:
Initially, 50 mg daily, increased if necessary in increments of 50 mg over several weeks to a maximum of 200 mg daily.
Usual maintenance dose: 50 mg daily.
Not recommended for children.
Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD):
Adults and Adolescents (over 13 years): Initially, 50 mg daily, increased if necessary in steps of 50 mg over several weeks. Usual dose range: 50-200 mg daily.
Children (6-12 years): Initially, 25 mg daily, increased to 50 mg daily after 1 week. Further increases, if necessary, should be in steps of 50 mg at intervals of at least 1 week (maximum: 200 mg daily).
Children under 6 years: Not recommended.
Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD):
25 mg daily, increased after 1 week to 50 mg daily. If the response is partial and the drug is tolerated, the dose may be increased in steps of 50 mg over several weeks to a maximum of 200 mg daily.
Sertraline should be used with caution in patients with epilepsy, concurrent electroconvulsive therapy, a history of mania, cardiac disease, diabetes mellitus, angle-closure glaucoma, a history of bleeding disorders, hepatic and renal impairment, pregnancy, and breastfeeding. SSRIs may impair the performance of skilled tasks. Abrupt withdrawal of SSRIs should be avoided.
Common side effects of Sertraline include nausea, diarrhea/loose stools, anorexia, dyspepsia, tremor, dizziness, insomnia, somnolence, increased sweating, dry mouth, and sexual dysfunction (principally ejaculatory delay in males).
Sertraline is contraindicated in patients entering a manic phase.
Sertraline should not be used in combination with MAOIs.
Sertraline may be started 14 days after discontinuing treatment with reversible MAOIs.
At least 14 days should elapse after discontinuing Sertraline treatment before starting an MAOI
Sertraline should be avoided during pregnancy and lactation.
Store at a temperature not exceeding 30°C in a dry place. Protect from light.
