Strategic MoU Signed with Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Dhaka

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed between Healthcare Chemicals Limited and the Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Dhaka, establishing a strategic academic–industry partnership aimed at advancing pharmaceutical research, innovation, and capacity building in Bangladesh.

The MoU signing ceremony was held at the Faculty of Pharmacy office, University of Dhaka. The agreement was formally signed by Mr. Md. Halimuzzaman, Managing Director, Healthcare Chemicals Limited, and Professor Dr. Md. Selim Reza, Dean, Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Dhaka, representing their respective institutions.

This collaboration marks an important milestone in strengthening cooperation between the pharmaceutical industry and academic institutions. The partnership is intended to foster collaborative research programs, promote structured knowledge exchange, and enable the effective translation of academic research into industry-relevant applications. Through this initiative, both institutions aim to contribute to the development of innovative pharmaceutical solutions aligned with national healthcare priorities.

A key area of focus under the MoU includes the prospective establishment of a well-equipped research and development–scale laboratory. This facility is envisioned to support advanced research activities led by faculty members and researchers of the University of Dhaka, with outcomes that may contribute to product development, process optimization, and technological advancement within the pharmaceutical industry.

The collaboration also seeks to enhance opportunities for academic researchers and students to engage with real-world industrial challenges, thereby strengthening research capabilities, technical skills, and practical exposure. By bridging academic expertise with industrial experience, the partnership aspires to support sustainable growth, innovation, and competitiveness within the pharmaceutical sector of Bangladesh.

Further collaborative initiatives and research programs are expected to be introduced progressively under the framework of this Memorandum of Understanding.
